Residential HVAC – Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning

In a perfect world heating, air conditioning systems, automobiles, computers, smart phones, televisions, refrigerators, microwaves, and all other advanced technology would never break down. But as we all know, in reality, even if we take proper care of our equipment, sometimes things go wrong.

Residential HVAC Repair

You can maintain your heating and cooling system regularly and change air filters annually, however, problems will likely arise and at the most unfortunate times. Many elements: from a faulty thermostat, clogged exhaust vent, loose wiring, warn out parts, unlit pilot light, can cause your system to function improperly or not at all. When your furnace, air conditioning, or central air unit needs more expertise than you can give, Douglas Services is here to help. Our professional technicians have been repairing heating and air conditioning systems, for commercial and residential customers, all over the east coast. We have years of experience working the many HVAC makes and models (such as Lennox, Rheem, Trane, Carrier, York) and their various power sources (gas furnace, electric heater, oil furnace or another type). When you need service on your home comfort system, Douglas Service technicians can quickly and effectively diagnose, adjust or repair it to restore peak performance and efficiency. We service and replace all major brands, and our service department is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our certified service technicians have the professional training and personal passion to make sure every project ends with a productive and positive feeling. We promise you that our courteous technician will identify the problem, notify you immediately of the issue, provide you with the solution and fix it – if it can be corrected with the equipment at hand. (Our shop and trucks are stocked with all common parts, but if necessary, components are not immediately available, we will order them and keep you up-to-date on their status.) We pledge to do the job to your satisfaction and to follow up with you after the work is finished to ensure that you are completely satisfied. If your HVAC system starts behaving less-than-perfectly this year, when you contact Douglas Services, by phone at 301-573-5399, by email at keepitcool@douglashvacservices.com, we will strive to make your unit better.

Avoid Unnecessary Service Calls

Check the following items before requesting service, to avoid an unnecessary service call:
  • Circuit breakers, fuses and disconnect switches
  • Outages
  • Pilot light – make sure the pilot light is lit.
  • Filters – Are the filters are clean? Dirty filters restrict airflow and can damage your equipment. Changing filters at least every 6 months is recommended.
  • Thermostats – The thermostat must be set in the proper mode (either heating or cooling) and the setting must be below the indoor temperature for cooling or above the indoor temperature for heating in order for the system to operate.
